SNATCHED FROM HELL

SNATCHED FROM HELL

The light brought shame
And exposed the fractures
That were hidden
In my heart and brain

I came face to face with myself
Like a microscope investigating termites
Housed in wooden shelves

I finally realized
The beast I've always been
The hurt I've caused others
By the termites
That was eating away my conscience
And left me lame

Abused as a child, had made me numb
Untouched by love
To anger I succumbed

But the word of God
Penetrated my heart
His light guided me
To a brand new start

Now I can live a life that's free
For the hand of God
Has rescued me.
