My uncle was an assassin in Vietnam. The government gave him pics of Viet Cong military leaders, dropped he and partner off in the jungle and said, we will pick you up in 4-5 days at spot xyz at xyz time. At hunting camp he would wake up in the middle of the night saying "Brad, Brad, BRAD!"....b/c he saw his best friend get shot in the face by an enemy sniper that killed BrAd.
Thank God today, there is group therapy for troops coming back from the Middle East to combat PTSD and for "Moral Injury."
That’s pretty frightening to be on missions without Psychological support afterward -
your uncle like other combatants put in extreme situations resultant in PTSD - Depression- Alcohol- numb pain.
