“Soldier of Love” (Inspired by Sade)

It was so early: shredded and torn asunder. Such virtue set

Aflame; and such agony, writhing daily. So much to escape;

And still, a stream speaks sorrow; and such as love—to

Douse the flame; and such dhyana to flit, flare and fly; and

So much the gunas. Alert awakening: a fire walks: a fleet

Of ghosts; and light to mind; and mind to light: a hidden

Path: a volt and sword. The use of heart: smothered and set

Free: pierced and bleeding; and speak the mirrors, mud and

Math; for such a storm, a fraction of sanity; and such a force:

Screaming mercy; and so to breathe, a mental prayer; and

So to live, a daily death; and sky to pulse, a private pleat.

Such Samadhi: a portal union: and such the birth: often—so

Sudden; and fierce and free and fraught and torn; and maze

And mar and myth and pearl; and such dhyana.
