Soldier's Confession

I don'tÂ
brag
ToÂ
Others
About
This
And
As much
As my
CharacterÂ
Likes
TO talk
Only aÂ
Handful
Know
The
Details
Of the
Burden
I bear
Teeth smashed
By
A butt end
Of a rifle
Causes
Self
PreservationÂ
To
Take over
No
Heroic
OrÂ
CourageousÂ
Decision
Only
The fearful
Desire
ToÂ
Live
I had
PTSD
Before
It was
PopularÂ
To have
It
No service
Dog
No meds
To
Drown
TheÂ
Nightmare
just
an
Internal
mechanismÂ
InÂ
Me to
CarryÂ
On
I never have
walked
Into
The veteran administrationÂ
requesting
for assistance
as I always
Figured
There is a brother
Or sisterÂ
Who needs
It more
No hand
Outs
No belief
In entitlementÂ
I live
I ride
By my
OwnÂ
Set of
Rules
I exist
OutsideÂ
The grid
Yet
I convenientlyÂ
Make adjustmentsÂ
To appear
As though
I doÂ
conspiracy theoristsÂ
Hold fragments
Of truth
As big brother
Creates
5150's
Out of those
Who
Become
A threat
My service
Is to
God and Country
I don'tÂ
Wear
A
MAGA
Hat
AndÂ
My stomachÂ
Turns
Everytime
IÂ
See
A
Pink
Beanie
I am the
Guy
That
Society
Wants
You
To
ForgetÂ
I am owned
By
No
One
And
I
Stand
For
The NationalÂ
AnthemÂ
This is the
Soldier's
Confession.....

I can’t even begin to imagine what you have and must be going through Greg.  My son is a journalist and he has been spearheading a campaign in the UK  demanding that the Government recognise the plight of our ex Military. Before his intevention in this the numbers of ex veterans who committed suicide was not even recorded ... anywhere! ..his work has made the Government now change their attitude ..but there is still so much more  that needs to be done. The Public don’t want to forget those who have given so much and they dont Greg...as long as there are people willing to keep making sure they are remembered and looked after..and more  importantly .....acknowledged-  every single one of them. Thoughts with you my friend. Thank you for this piece to shakes us out of our complacency.  Lodigiana x
A powerful piece of honesty Greg. Both my children are ex army and it has opened my eyes to a lot of things. Great piece ?
