Why Madness ?

Why Madness ?

A battered body lies in a foreign field

On the first day his fate was sealed

The conflict now rages on oblivious

Just another statistic, not obvious

For many have perished in the carnage

With no side having gained an advantage

The total horror carries on all around

From this war-torn body comes no sound

Except, if you take time to contemplate

He poses questions you can not berate

"Why?" "Does this madness have to be?"

"Isn't peace possible for once in history?"

"Who cares about how many will die?"

"For once, can't people let differences lie?"

His soul to heaven goes, eternal peace and rest

A shame that here, mankind can not pass the test

To create a peaceful paradise on Earth for all

Listening to the soldier, that on a battlefield, did fall.
