Some mountaineer

Some mountaineer

A gilded thread my saving grace,

it keeps me tethered to this place,

Not far from yonder black abyss,

yet equally to summit missed,

But fixed betwixt I dangled, swung

Between a hell and harp string strung

The dark, the light and I the shade,

Where tempests have my morals frayed

Some mountaineer, I laughed aloud,

Caught between the earth, the cloud.
