Somedays

Somedays are profoundly worse than others,
Somedays your bed is your home,
A dangerous sanctuary,
One you do not wish to escape from.
Other days, you want to get dressed,
Get up and explore the world,
Putting your face on,
Ready to front life head on.
Remembering that although it isn’t easy,
You have to try.

As a sufferer of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and a diagnosed manic depressive, I totally get where you're coming from here, Katie.
There are days when I just feel like no matter how hard I try, I can't crawl out of bed.
But obligations often force us to do just that—like reading and writing four to six hours a day in order to hone our beloved chosen craft of writing. I have 23 chickens I have to feed, water and collect eggs from each day.
I have three dogs in the house and a cat, all of whom need food and water or to go outside to do their "business".
So, I have no choice but to get up and get goin'.
But perhaps that's a good thing...
Nicely penned; emotive and expressive.
