Poem -

Something Lives & Something Dies

Something remains a friendship. And something dies the
Friendship. But I witness the beating heart. It crumbles,
Falls apart, and latches to divinity. Every pulsation, a
Spirit burn. Is this communication. [Selah] I cry—a damaged
Flight. And winter, so warm; and summer, so cold. We die,
Afraid to speak; and we crave, afraid to conquer. My riddle,
Expose the need, for love is whet. And such the breach, a
Suture sewn. Invade the chapel—a fervent prayer. For
Something dies the heart, a torrent sorrow. But such joy,
A burning wave; and such consciousness, a soaring storm.
Barely composed—such thoughts; and barely contained,
Such Spirit. My florist, a northern rose; and such majesty,
A flaming riddle. In truth, the filter bleeds; but something
Remains a friendship; and something dies the friendship.
