A sonnet for the Archangel Azrael

A sonnet for the Archangel Azrael

Is it time to sleep for the night
Which I see full of ghosts and moth
That shall I scream for the light
O God of mercy this wrath
These tears at the entrance of night
Forbidding peace upon thy bed thorned
Thou shalt be dressed in white
Before thy eyes in gold adorned
Strings upon thy bows light
Play these dreams for time
Into the deep dark dark night
Lovers and sleepers shall entwine
For sleep is the Archangel Azrael
That bestows peace upon Israel

I just woke :)  this angel is mythological

supposed to help sleep

A prayer

see

Insomnia is so prevalent a prayer

for sleep may be worthwhile!

Thanks for coming by.
