Sorry I was not there
To help you up, when feeling down
Life can be so unfair
Happy gets misplaced in all brown

Who asked how was your day?
Or took the time to notice plight
Parked right there in your way
Handing you hope's sympathy light

You may have been hungry
But because your dress is real nice
The day stole energy
You would eat, but others your twice

Sorry you had to walk
While others you support get rides
You have to wade through talk
While they pick you for their confides

I might have passed your way
And didn't notice emptiness
Now it seems you must pay
That others enjoy coziness

But never you mind that
Nor be over come with life's now
Others, been where you sat
So too friend, they made it somehow

I'm sorry I missed you
With my smile, or a word of cheer
No! we are more then few
We are the ones, that really care...
