Soul teaches soul

Soul teaching soul
I thank you for what you have given me
A story that never ends that I never fully know

The riddle of the falling tree
Healthy and wholeĀ
The next day I find on the ground

It's leaves still green

Down the railroad escarpment where I walk my dog
Where users of what ever kind of drug
Got to get dirty to come clean

Soul teaching soul
Reaches out
Why am I here right now
That little backstreet where some drive to escape reality
I have made my own path to the fallen tree

I spot some moss I want to take home with me
My fingers dig in and a thousand tangled roots
Are breaking I amĀ  pullingĀ  but
You can't take away from unity

And all the rocks that are perfect
In my hand collected given purpose
Sit getting dusty on my windowsill

And all the hurt I don't understand
StillĀ

It's leaves are still green
Though on a fallen tree
