Soul Writing

When my eyes found yours

I wrote you a love poem

Indelible and beautiful.

I wrote it on my soul.

After time has taken its toll

Years have flown by us

Like leaves

in the autumn winds.

Children grown and raised

I still find the soft morning light

Falling upon your sweet face.

Showing me the woman

I have always needed.

And will need

until I no longer breathe.

I look inside my heart

To where my soul resides

And read the words that will

Last until infinity ends.
