Souls Dance

Souls Dance

I knew him in my very soul,
I could sense all that he thought,
I felt when nerves took hold of him,
And the battles that he fought.

I knew his smile and laughter,
His angst and pain as well,
I didn’t know what else he felt,
Just the stories he could tell.

His energy for all of life,
His mind an endless task,
Of gathering Information,
To help him get a grasp.

I knew his quiet yearning,
For a soul to understand,
To admire and respect him,
And help him stand his ground.

Today the tables quietly turned,
For I was totally thrown,
The man I loved to talk to,
Touched parts of me unknown.

I knew that somewhere hidden,
Within my very heart,
That there would be a person,
Of which I’d be a part.

It is early days to judge this,
Unknown middle, unknown end,
But I know that for eternity,
My soul has found a friend.
