Special Friend

Dear God, how do I thank You,
For a very special friend?
I think I’ll start when I met her,
And go from there until the end.
I met her quite by accident,
After church one day,
I had always admired her singing,
Listened to what she made the keyboard say.
My mom was at a church meeting,
So I went in the choir stand,
And I listened to them sing,
About joining the Christian band.
So then I joined the choir,
Went to practice to,
We were still strangers.
Our relationship still brand new.
Then I found out something,
She liked to give hugs as well as me,
I also met her sister,
And together we became three.
Three friends who loved to sing,
Praises to our God,
Two people whom I could turn to,
When my life got hard.
So then I found my sister,
And I left for a few months’ time,
But then I came back,
And wrote some stupid rhymes.
Who read my stupid rhymes?
Only my friend of old,
She wrapped me in her arms tight,
For my spirit was cold.
Then I found an aunt,
Who lived pretty close by,
After a few months, I did something awful,
It actually made me cry.
I poured my heart out to my friend,
Longing for internal peace,
I got that and forgiveness,
As I told my story piece-by-piece.
Then we became sisters,
And so I made a new phrase,
We were S.I.C., Sisters In Christ
‘Til the end of our days.
So, God, how do I thank You,
For my special friend?
I’ll just keep on thanking You,
Until the very end.
