Long removed
from the
jungle primordial

We evolved rapidly 
up
the food chain

Destruction came easily
to us skilled predators

Dominating 
with an attitude
of smug superiority
but in reality
deep down 
we still be
scared soft and pink
fragile mammal animals

Wreckless stewards
of an
ailing planet
we are failing
that will one day
bury and make extinct
the current
foolish lead species
