Spirit of God

Oh Father, it is I , your child-
My tongue no words can form.
I am aching deep within my heart-
Please allow me God, to warm.....

Warm by your love so serene-
Peace beckons me this hour.
I am safe within thine hand.
You are my rock, my tower.

Father, I have so much to say-
Yet, strength not have I to speak.
I pray your Spirit will utter-
My soul's need, for I'm too weak.

The storm is intent to destroy me God.
I am not afraid, for you are here.
I do not claim to understand-
My every doubt and tear.

I only know that when you are present-
I can relax in blessed serenity!
Though not always do you stop the rain-
You never fail to comfort me!

Oh precious Spirit of the Great I Am-
I humbly in the silence call out to thee.
Knowing you will not let me down-
Your angels are ever surrounding me.

I am weak and thou art strong!
I shall rest secure beneath thy wing!
Ah precious Holy Spirit of God!
Even my tears in victory sing!

Praise the wondrous Lamb of God!
My heartbeat sounds in his ear.
He knows the essence of my being-
His love calms my every fear!

I shall walk forth from this fountain-
My days in prayer shall I now spend!
I shall meditate in this sweet wisdom.......
Spirit of God......He is my friend.
