" SPIRITUAL PLEA FOR THE INTERIOR LIFE..."

The very place where you are stationed in life
Helps you little if you are without spiritual fervor...

Dear Lord,
Please afford me heaven's wisdom
That I may learn to see you in All things
I wish desperately to remain intent
On following the ways of the interior life
Where will I find true peace and glory
If not in you, then where?
For as I glean insights from the world around me
I find I am lost in the lovely ballet of it all
I am afraid that the daily distractions
And the amazing observations you provide
In such glorious human beings
That the interior life may be lost to me
And my struggle to find you
May be lost to me as well,
Am I the one who makes a promise
And then fails to fulfill it?
Will you come and heal me?
Wait patiently for me?
It is temptation that distresses me
And unreasonable fear that frightens me
I fear that I am only heaping sorrow upon sorrow
And in this ~ my erstwhile letter to you
I pray that your gift of affliction and adversity
Lifts my soul above complaint or depression
And deliver me to my initial intent
That gift of true peace and glory,
In my struggle through this,
The Interior life...
