Squirreling It Away

Squirreling It Away

We have a brand new little furry friend, who visits us every day;
He comes for the bread we put out, and to squirrel it all away!
We place it on the front porch, in a real neat little pile;
And we wait for him to come calling, in not too long a while!
.
He first sits on the railing, making sure the coast is clear;
Checking out all directions, to see if any danger’s near!
Once he feels his safety, he jumps down onto the floor;
As we secretly are watching, through our clear glass sliding door!
.
He is a very dainty eater, he takes but one piece at a time;
Then heads back up the railing, so deftly does he climb!
Most times, he comes back for another, such a treasured sight to see;
He brings smiles to our faces, and fills our hearts with glee!
.
.
                               A new furry friend
                         Has made us his family
                           We love our squirrel
