Stained

Stained

Living in vain,
is living in pain.
Everything falls through,
and nothing is new.

While you are trying to be kind,
harrowing words paint direful portraits in my mind.
The past stains every part of me,
why won't you just let me be?

I see a serpent at my window pane.
Not again, not again.
I feel so drained.
There's nothing now,
so make your final forged vow.

There is no winner in this pitiful life,
now all that is left is my strife.
I am trapped in your eternal game,
there is no end, only shame.

Will I ever be able to surpass my brain?
The answer is never,
for I am forever in chains.
