Fermented torment

Fermented torment

Not a word was spoken,
but many words were exchanged.
I saw you through glass eyes,
with a false perception.

You were always there,
and I thought I was too
but I was merely a forged memory,
an apparition in a simulated world
left to fester eternally

Until the day finally came,
the day my nightmare
became a reverie
and my fermented torment
now only a bad dream.
