Standing at the altar đź’Ť

He stood at the altar waiting for his future  bride

And this feeling of excitement, was impossible to hide

He simply could not wait to have that beauty by his side

And as she slowly strolled up the aisle, Oh how his heart filled with pride

Underneath her white wedding gown, she wore a garter of subtle blue

She held a handkerchief which was borrowed, and a gold bracelet that was new

And all of the congregation wept tears of joy, as they heard  the young couple say “I do”

When the Vicar pronounced them both man and wife, then a kiss was followed thru

So now they were a husband and his wife, everybody was elated

Where they all danced at the wedding reception, and joyfully celebrated

Throughout the evening, speeches were spoken, they were rehearsed and narrated

And a year after they had tied the knot, pitter patter of tiny feet arrived, that was surprisingly never contemplated…
