STARRY NIGHT

A star studded sky twinkling like diamonds
on a black velvet cape
The milky way our galaxy, an arch surrounding the earth
like a protective arm of light
The moon bright, sending translucent beams of light
shimmering on still waters
Comets soaring with tails like bright firecrackers,
that disappear but return through the ages
Venus our sister planet its beauty as the goddess
a majestic brightness, seen by the naked eye
The night sky a fascinating show stopping spectacle
of illumination through nature
The universe in all its wonder beautiful
in its vast never ending cosmic glory
Inspired by Tony Taylor`s" Night Surfer"

Yay!! ~ VERY COOL DEBS!!...I know I toss that word ~ cool ~ around a lot like it's meaningless filler..... but it's NOT!!,,,I ASSURE you!!..... in this particular instance I mean to reiterate the fact that this is one of your first attempts at "Poetic Prose"!!...... and you do it beautifully here!!...... your opening lines are gorgeous and show your range in such a stellar fashion (smiles) ~ " A star studded sky twinkling like diamonds on a black velvet cape..."...... what's SO wonderful about this is the fact that you state that this write was inspired by my poem "Night Surfer"..... it is such an honor to hear those words come from another writer whom you respect.... and then...... to read such magical phrasing come from that inspiration is MORE than any writer could hope for....... not only do I thank you for passing on that inspiration....... but I thank you for doing such a fantastic job at conveying that inspiration.........I better go now ~ before I start getting to "mushy"....... but from my heart......I Thank You Debs!!........ stay the course my friend....... because you are truly gifted...... never let anyone tell you differently!!.......LOVED THIS!!........ your friend and admirer.......T xo

Hi Rose Thank you so much for your
kind words i`m so glad you enjoyed
this one, love n hugs Debs
Hi our Dear Debs,
Wow! You took me to the stars on this one. When we look to the sky, we are viewing history, because it can take a thousand or two thousand years for the light of the stars to reach us. I'm sure they hold the secrets of mankind. Your title is also very interesting, because it is the same one that Van Gogh used on what many believe was his last painting before he took his life. Who knows what he saw when he looked up to them? Also, a nice tribute to Tony.
Hugs, Peace and Love,
xox Larry
Hi Larry lovely comments Thank you for them!
Although the poem was inspired buy Tony`s
"Night Surfer" The title i choose was from the the song
Vincent sung by Don Mclean about Van Gogh way back in the early
70s and the first words are Starry Starry Night
Thanks again my friend love n hugs Debs xox
Such a delightful work which truly deserves all the praise it has received.
