Stars

Forest Gump's mother once claimed that life is like a box of chocolate.
I find this to be horribly misleading.

Life's contents are not clearly displayed on the side of the cardboard packaging,
Nor are they necessarily a romantic gesture that can lead to a night of sexual ravaging.

I've found that life is more similar to a star,
A huge,
Burning,
Luminous circle travelling much faster than it needs to.
Sometimes shallow,
Sometimes luxuriant,
But certainly never see through.

A star may spend it's entire life searching for the secret to why there are planets and moons instead of shadows and silence.
Only to discover the light source he seeks is his own and the entire world is inside him.

As the planets revolve around the star,
So too does life revolve around us.
Perception is key, we are what we see,
Like the star we become our own solar system's solar plexus.
