Stars Not Working
(A Fun Poet's Challenge)
Tarot strong suggested, and the birthstones glistened
She spoke with passion and she just listened
Air with Fire set to kindle into a romance
But time was dragging and so was chance
Was it the scents that didn't mix
Or was it not an auspicious day to fix
They checked the astrological charts
Venus was sending cherubs and darts
So why didn't two hearts fluster in chests
Why didn't they get to base at the breasts
Fluttering eyes and pouting lips
Twisting of hair and shuffling of hips
It wasn't any point to exert so much flirt
Obviously that day, the stars just didn't work
