Stay
You want to go
but I need you to stay.
It is not your time
to die today.
Your life may seem
dark and bleak.
Mine has not yet
met its peak.
You need to walk
me down the isle.
I need to see
your loving smile.
My children will need
someone to spoil them rotten.
In their hearts
you'd never be forgotten.
I love you,
and without you I'd be sad.
I need you to stay
and be my dad.

Aww, I'm so glad you found it moving! I didn't expect to elicit tears, though I believe it accomplished what I meant it to in doing so. This is an extremely personal write for me. I cried a lot while writing it. I'm glad it was able to move you in such a way :)
