Still We Stand

Still we stand, unable to clutch a dying loved one’s hand. Still we stand, watching the world unmanned. 

While we were standing still, we reflected on our past. While we were standing still, we seen the depths of our greed full, unappreciative shadowily cast. 

Still we stand, as we witness nature’s heal full hand. Still we stand, wondering what of our tomorrow will be banned. 

While we were standing still, our loved ones passed away alone. While we were stand still, we became weary of the the stones we’ve thrown. 

Still we stand, alone across a healing globe. Still we stand, fighting this invisible microbe. 

While we were standing still, compassion and humanity begin to thrive. While we were standing still, we did what we could for those still alive.  

Still we stand, in each society.  Still we stand, for each and all verity.  

While we were standing still, we longed for normalcy once more. While we were standing still, we realized it could never be the way it was before. 

Still we stand, as though we’re in quicksand. Still we stand, each witnessing sorry and fear firsthand. 

While we were standing still, we planned each and every move. While we were standing still, we begin to see the things we could and shall improve. 

Still we stand, not willing to say goodbye
Still we stand, with tear filled eyes. 

While we were standing still, we longed for a better day tomorrow.  While we were standing still, a world was covered in sorry. 

Still we stood, for your tomorrows. Still we stood, where humanity’s compassion took a stand by being humbled and humiliated all but alone so every coming generation knows...
