Stolen As Angels
From this earth,
It’s inevitable.
We all have to leave.
Could be over time or in the blink of your eyes.
Talking one minute,
The next,
Off an angel flies.
Lucid in the final moments,
Before their soul is stolen,
Floating off into the skies.
The deaf can hear.
The mute can talk.
Clear headed,
Before life denies.
I’ve seen it myself twice in 1 week now.
How a person goes from living,
then unfortunately dies.
Before Riga mortis sets in.
They seem to get a surge of lucidness,
And in their eyes,
Surprise.
The elderly have memories that were once forgotten.
Just before their angel form glides.
Some peoples pain dissipates,
Before they take their fateful ride.
It’s like these things,
Get pulled out of people,
Much like the sea,
When it’s on low tide.
That’s the thing about death though,
As it knows when time’s,
not on our side.
It’s like it’s sitting on our shoulder,
Like those in hospital,
Waiting ‘patiently’ in line.
In one moment they slip away,
Sometimes peacefully,
When 2 seconds ago they were fine!
No matter the age or if expected.
When it comes.
It still brings with it shock.
It makes us still living,
To want to turn back times clock.
It still leaves most of us in tears,
Even if they’re better off.
That’s all life is,
Is a tick and a tock.
Backwards and forwards it leaves us,
As from side to side we rock.
It gets more bearable with time though,
Although the pain never seems to stop!
Well,
Until we’re stolen as angels,
When our lives,
Finally go whizz,
bang and pop!
