On Stones-Inspired by Neil Diamond Song

On Stones-Inspired by Neil Diamond Song

On Stones

Stones would whisper

in her head

when she slept

Stones made her bed.

She wept for love

but would get

Only stones.

He was lost

kept on moving

looked for gold

It was not coming.

all he found

is being alone

on stones.

Sweet child

the new days dawning

Wait and see

In the sunny morning

I will be back

to bring the love in

A time for spring

a time for planting

A time for us

our harvest granting

Every prayer in the land.

Every song ever sang

To bear the fruit

of happy homes.

We are two wildflowers

that bloom on stones.
