Stop And Think

Why does everyone get so upset, 
Why is it so hard to forgive and forget?
Why can't everyone stop and think, 
Before getting pushed to anger's brink? 

How hard is it to take a minute,
To keep a temper under it's limit? 
It's made to seem normal to hold a grudge, 
But that only holds you in anger's sludge. 

Just one minute to think things through
Could mean the world to those around you, 
Just forgive and move on in life, 
It could be the end to pain and strife. 

Please don't yell, don't say mean things, 
It may not show, but each word stings, 
One word can make or break a heart, 
Each action can be an end, or start.
