Stray Dog

Ā
Ā I'm looking through the eyes of a stray dog
It's cold and I'm hungry, then it's hot
I barely see through the fog some days
And myself is all that I've got
I don't have a mirror to see my eyes
My eyes don't want to be seen
I'm looking through the eyes of a stray dog
Who's living on the streets
I watch the way you look at me, I scavenge and I roam
I haven't eaten in days, my mouth is dripping with foamĀ
I'm looking through the eyes of a stray dog expressing my vision to you
I'm wondering Ā if you appreciate, the eyes your looking through

I got goosebumps at the end, as I could see the dog wandering around in search of warmth, love and food. There is quite the epidemic of homeless and unwanted animals in our world. Lovely poem!Ā
