STREET LIFE

How tough is life when you have no money
To live on a street certainly ain't funny
Not knowing what the future has in store
Sleeping on cardboard under a shop door
The clothes on your back are old and worn
When it's freezing outside you wished you had never been born
The half eaten takeaway in the overstuffed bin
Means that you can eat today a fantastic win
This is the way of the world in 2018
Where beggers on street corners are always seen

Great write my friend! Keep it up!
Having lived on the streets of Norfolk, VA back in 2007 for almost an entire year, I can tell you most unequivocally that it ain't easy, KIERAN1369.
Without warning, the company I worked for closed it's door two days prior to Christmas. The trade I was skilled in is very obscure and very few companies do it.
Only through the grace of God did my old supervisor happen to spot me sleeping on the street one day and he offered me a management position at another company that does the same thing in South Plainfield, New Jersey.
He literally saved my life.
Here's to you, Andy C., wherever you are.
Great poem.

Hi Kieran,
One day I saw a homeless man
On a corner, with a sign
It read "I need cash, and will work for it"
Then I stopped my car on a dime
.
I rolled the window down and said
"I have no work, but this dollar is for you"
He replied, "I'm not looking for charity man"
He refused it, but he still said, "I thank you"
This is a true story that I experienced in the late 1970's.
Peace and Love,
Larry xxx
