Strike an Ember

I mean not to pull, and not to tug, but love flags the soul; and

God paints the breeze; and there you stand: a kitten’s purr;

And there you sing: an opera harsh. I’m smitten, love; and torn

Apart; for fate lingers: a shadow blue; and laugh my heart: a

Jungle death; and cry my soul: an angel’s grief; and leather

Leafs: a shadow grey; and kettle clouds: a woman’s ache; and

Drift a kite: a lonely soul; and squat a prayer: a daughter’s

Hand; and measure green: a teal surprise; for life is mixed: a

Joyful flame; and pain is fixed: a rhythmic flow; and tell a

Heart: the ways of love; and feel a flare: the joys of love; and

Lilt and tilt: an aqua rose; and fall and rise: a daughter’s prose;

For life aflame: a wave of arts; and tears of joy: a pen that

Sparks; and lizards fly: the streams of earth; and leopards

Cleave: the spots of birth.
