Striving to Hold On

Right now as I stand, my thoughts know nothing but regret

Regret of which I was to ignorant to fear as a child

As an innocent and desolate soul

Not taking the advice of enjoying my early years as warned

For the way memories hold you back are something unknown

Like having to leave behind friends that you just met out- of- state

Just as never will I see those people again so will my memories be.
