Poem -

The Strongest, Her Fight

The town grew silent, it's never been so still,

a community in shock, a tragedy so dear.

She showed so much strength, but in gave her will,

for all of her fear, finally disappeared.

Her face lay pale white, in the gloomy white room,

she lay cold as ice, we finally had knew.

There'd been no goodbyes,

no sorrow, no tears,

"Goodnight" she'd last said, as we left for the night.

As Christmas eve awake, there would lie her body,

pasty as a ghost, no strength left within.

Though she'd lie there still as night,

she'd lost her fight,

she could no longer survive in this cruel, sick world.

She wished no tears, she wished no sorrow,

she wished for strength to find us within.

The strongest I've known, the hardest, her fight,

we knew she'd found her place in Heaven.

Goodbye my best friend,

Goodbye my sweet angel.

Goodbye my savior.

Please never fear,

for I'll meet you someday.

You won't be alone,

no, not for long.

I'll meet you there one day.

May she rest in peace,

and take her seat,

watch over us please,

keep us safe in your mind.

Sweetie we love you,

forever and always,

you'll never leave our minds,

in every tear we cry.

You did us no harm,

just wrote more of our story, you'll always be with us

in our thoughts and memories.

The town grew silent, we held our heads in prayer,

no matter how much we wished, she'd never be here.
