Poem -
Stupid is as
stuipid ..
oh where are my rights ,
to be stuipid,
she fights,
to take off her clothes..
and strip to bare bones,
in the beautiful isles..
of the Maldives..
but ten thousand eyes,
look down on her..
you must forgive her,
for she is stuipid..
with no regard
for your belief or your rights,
only her white privilege
that she can do
as she likes,
because she is stuipid.

Well since she is being leered at for sure with that sexy body baring all her treasures for all and sundry she is abusing her rights for sure and being silly indeed. I am torn..but I have respect for other peoples religious beliefs. Keep your clothes on, they cheapen themselves, in my opinion. If you must bare all,, do it where it is acceptable, not where it is not, that's what I think.
If I went about like that I know many eyes would leer at me and invade my privacy because what's called private parts are exposed. I as a woman had rather drown than be seen in such a naked state.

I think it is 'respect' under fire here. Shes shown no respect for the country she visits, but maybe she is unaware of this disrespect because society has taught her she can do as she wants. Western women need to be very care full with their liberty abroad. If this was in Iran, well I cant bare to imagine who would be that stuipid. A concept can get you killed out there ..show respect when you travel.
I don't think a woman can be killed for being under dressed in Iran, never heard of that, maybe arrested or fined yeah. But if I'm told of a case where they actually killed a woman for being undressed even in public then that is unislamic and not sanctioned by Islam because Islam disallows duress and force in matters of religion. A woman has full right to dress as she please as long it is not causing her harm. It's liberty for us to cover ourselves decently, covering up it's liberating rather than having to expose ourselves to leery lustful eyes.
Oh wow Pauline...I'm not sure where I stand on this either. You have made me ponder?? ...I think though I come down on the side of personal freedom as long as it harms nobody and is respectful in a general way. I don't think I believe that anybody should be restricted because of other people's opinions or religions either, because it's not too long ago that women in particular were very restricted in length of clothing whether it was decent for ankles to be bare etc....I think nudity is one thing but a bikini on the beach is reasonable choice. People who object for religious or cultural reason can or choose not to look or walk away. I also wonder whether this powerful verse would have any power at all if the image was of a man??? Anyway, very excellent thought provoking write...?
Oh I can see now she is naked??? If so I wouldn't want to see males or females in all their glory running around even in windy UK!! Lol...( all religion and culture aside!!) Hugs ?
But, you're thinking with a Western brain, it's not offensive to me, if shes sunbathing, minding her own business, or even in Skegness walking in an Arcade, I would not like to see her inner loins parading, in Asda, or down the school picking kids up. Stay on the beach where its permitted, if it is at all permitted, if it's not then please respect and observe the laws of the country you visit.
I actually complained to staff in Turkey in the hotel, for bikini clad tourists in the dining room, and men with just shorts on, un hygienic bending over food, with their buttocks exposed, put me right off my breakfast.
Similar in theme to my write: Not Exactly Beachside Culture (Tim the American's Complaint). Yes, we need to forgive those who are just clueless, I tried to educate poor Tim, but some people are inflexibly conformed to a particular mold and don't even entertain the thought of growing out of it.
