suburbia

barefoot, 
I walk zigzags through puddles 
on the vacant street. 
I walk in many patterns, 
telling stories with my feet. 

- I kicked my shoes off in the rain, thinking 
maybe if I could feel this town between my toes
I'd find some comfort here.
