Succulent

Succulent

Succulent pork with crackling adorn,
Glistening in juices in a wreath of smoke,
Prepared with amour on a Sunday morn,
A feast for the eyes, emotive evoke.

Creamy mashed potatoes sprinkled with chives,
Parsnips cooked in a honey glaze,
Carrots and roasties and greens aside,
Apple sauce too, it receives high praise.

Thick rich gravy alluring in smell,
Ravenous, pork stock simmers away,
A sight enough to make me quell,
Delectable dish to set up the day.
