Summer Breeze

Summer Breeze

The palm trees sway in the summer breeze,
Lowering my stress, now released in ease.
The salt air flows; and enters my senses,
The sleepy sunset; lowering my defenses.

Anchored sail boats; rocking like a mother,
The child in me drifts, tide being my cover.
The horizon like an eyelid; closing its sight,
The wispy orange clouds; outline the night.

First stars to appear; begin to wink at me,
As if to say, we guard and also love the sea!
Here I find solitude in the sand on my knees,
Thanking my Lord, I can feel a summer breeze!

Jim I believe your Summer Breeze would put Frank Sinatra's to shame.
Beautifully written and imagined and just the tonic the whole world needs right now.
📌 pinned for perfection and full honours too and I wish you well Jim .
And Jim, you sir have a knack, a real poetry knack to raise all spirits when flagging, with your evident superb writing and rhyme.
Thanks for sharing my friend.

Hey JIM!!....In 1972 the song "Summer Breeze" went straight to the top of the pop charts.....and for a VERY good reason......the lyrics were STELLAR.....Written and performed by SEALS & CROFTS........personally, I Love that song ~ It's one of my favorites!! (you should check out that song and let me know what you think)......this poem rivals those lyrics......you continue to surprise the hell out of me.......excellent work here my friend!!........ALL STARS!!.......LOVE & ROCKETS!!.......Your cyber-friend and admirer!!........T xo  ; )

Wonderful poem. The picture reminded me of a beach I spent a day at in St. John’s. The words drifted me back to that beach.

Such an inspired piece of writing Jim! It totally captivated me and took my daydream thoughts on a wonderful journey filled with sunshine, tranquility and a love of nature. It would not be an exageration to say that reading this piece every day would be a wonderful 'kick start' to a more positive, productive day..Pinned in the hope of getting just that! Great stuff Jim! I'm sorry I missed this!  Been trying hard to catch up but have missed some. This is a stellar write, Jim!  Reading this poem brings my favourite things to me... The summer breeze AND the beach. And as I was reading I was imagining Cornwall... Because I LOVE Cornwall and your beautiful poem took me right there. Brilliant!  Thank you 🌹x
