Poem -
Summer Is Here!
The starling bathes herself in the gutter outside.
Sprinkling yesterdays rain water onto the flower bedĀ
She flies away swiftly as I walk insideĀ
Into the next garden were she spots some bread
A cat prowls steadily cross the grass
Fixed on the bird as they sing their song
Perched firmly on a cylinder of gas
Startled, the bird takes flight and is gone
A lawnmower purrs
Flowers bloom
Children play outsideĀ
for hours on end
Even the dead are dancing on their tomb
Summer is here
Possibilities around every bend
