Sundown
By Norma Pascua Simon
I’m beholding the sun as it goes down,
Brings me anew morrow before I lay my crown.
I clamored to hearken the dulcet tune....
of gannets wings flying across the moon.
I was beguiled in phantasy
I sailed to a region of dreams veiled with colorsÂ
slipped to slumber before uncertainty,
Imbued my soul in tranquilityÂ
that restored my heart from the pangs of dolor.
I heard the the cockcrow at the break of dawn.
The obscure night is gone,
parted to the birth of new day.
My eyes opened by the radiant sol that lighted up the sea,
Across the firmament whispering “Come what May”
After the day, I have something to look forward..
The unveiling of sunset’s smile- my greatest reward.
