Poem -

Sunflower of my Dream

By Norma Pascua Simon

The golden face that your beauty reflects,
kissed and worship the sun as it deflects.
You’re standing bright and tall,
leaning your crown against the wall.

Despite of throes and dismal days
Broadcasting joy in your merry ways.
Vincent Van Gogh painted your majestic beauty,
that signifies the culmination of dreams, hope, and glory.

The soft plumpness of your flower head,
like a woman’s lips, silky and rosy red.
You are mortal princess with sublime beauty,
inspired many paramours of strength and nobility.

You’re like a phenomenal woman,
perpetually strong, looking up to the surging sun.
Your beauty fades, petals withers...
but your substance is eternal and never dithers.
