Super Ghost

Super Ghost

In the dimly lit
recesses of
yesterday
Captain America

former free world defender

now disillusioned warrior

drinks alone in the corner

watching old
black and white
gory glory war movies

cell phone turned off

For it seems

he's grown weary
of solely carrying the
load on his
broad shoulders

while behind the lines warriors
second guess his methods

The time again will come

when a desperate world will call

and they will find

the shunned hero of yesteryear

has disappeared
