Swallowing The Stars

 Swallowing The Stars

In My Youth
I was told to
reach for the stars
Yet no one
instructed me
as to what to do
when I caught one

Do I hold it
display it
for the world to see?
or
would it be better
to find a covert location
and hide it
only taking it
out occasionally
for my amusement?

At 52
though I have
made it my daily
goal
I have yet
to become successful
in being a catcher
of the stars

Being an optimist however
I do know that
sooner or later
I will overcome
all the obstacles
and will eventually
land myself a star

It is on this day
that I believe
I will swallow
it
for in consuming
all the magical elements
it possesses
I will be able to absorb
its energy
which will enable me
to seat myself
in Heaven on
a throne
that is reserved
only for one of
the Father's
Suns...............................................
