Sweet Memories

Sweet Memories

Sweet Memories

Gabriel Magno © 1986 (BMI)

she came to me with a broken heart,

left behind the world she knew.

and in her eyes, a thousand dreams,

but they never would come true.

love was born never felt before,

seasons turned and she was mine.

but winds of fate, searching ever more,

took her life before my eyes.

here I stand, nothing more to be,

all my reason fades away.

still I search as I long to see,

love return in future days.

sweet memories of a love we knew,

never fade, they never die.

sweet memories, never more come true,

memories can be unkind.

Gabriel this is a terrific poem, bitter sweet and sentimental, enjoyed the way you wrote it, telling a story of ill-fated love, romantic and sad....a really good right man...cheers

Thanks Christopher

Unfortunately, scenes like these happen in real life, but one must go on...
