SWEET WATER OF REVENGE

To the point of death

SWEET WATER OF REVENGE

You entered my heart
Like the oxygen, it so desperately needed
Moving through my being in every blood cell
Until you consumed me whole.

I awake in your presence and walk in your paths
Digesting your fruit of anger in the chambers of my mind.

Like a sapling placed in the arms of the earth
And watered from above, you nourished me
With a deep desire for revenge, and I loved it!
More than life.

In blinded darkness, I could still see your face
And feel your pulse vibrating in my soul
In sleep, you were my dreams,
I thirst for you like the desert sand.

Then, the day came when my unsatisfied thirst
Were quenched by your sweet water of revenge
And death seized my soul.

Wilford Barker.
