Tableau Noir

Tableau Noir
I recall primary school as if it were yesterday.
Pencil and notebooks, not like today.
I recall in primary school, there was always respect.
But now, it seems to have fallen on deaf ears the meaning.. such regret.
I recall in primary school, getting sent to the office shaking in absolute fear.
Nowadays a kid gets called. Who cares, they mock and cheer.
I recall in primary school, some pupils being held back a year.
Nowadays all passing grades, forcing the child to fall behind, they had to follow their peers.
It's truly sad that yesteryear has not shown the way.
It seems like holding them back will never come back one day.
I recall highschool. For me it was a lot of fun.
But if you failed, there was really no place to run.
I recall highschool, yes you had your cliques.
But knowing this, I was certain to always had my wits.
I never followed, I tried more to lead.
Skipping class, made you an ass.
This is fact..... indeed!
We didn't have what they have now;
Computers, tablets, phones.
Every day in every class, with homework we brought home.
You would think with all the aids the children do have now.
How could you fail? This I ask with a furrowed brow.
No more Tableau Noir, where the teachers used to write.
Nowadays, shaking my head, everything is white.
The students of yesteryear (the ones that I personally know).
Have followed their dreams and became who they are because highschool helped us grow.
We didn't have all these gimmicks or all the help schools now provide.
My goodness dear people, how will they ( this generaton) be able to survive?
Cursive writing was mandatory, really quite an art.
But nowadays, this technique has totally fallen apart.
I have friends who are teachers and nurses, some of whom have travelled abroad.
Because most of the technology wasn't used, to help pave this daring road.
Life is hard kids. Trust me when I say:
"You are given every chance more so than yesterday. We faced all the same issues, bullying teasing and teachers being rude. Something to always remember, you have to be crude. If you don't like it, then remember to fight back but this isn't done like yesteryear, now they have knives and guns. When I say fight back, I mean speak to someone, let them help you and show you highschool could be fun.
I remember highschool, peer pressure at its peak.
Be strong. Stand tall. This feeds on the weak.
Remember you're the future each and every one of you.
You have dreams, follow them and stay in school.
Without an education, there's not much you can achieve.
Follow your heart and your dreams. You have to believe.
Believe the tableau Noir. It never tells a lie.
Without passing grades, you will not get by.
