Poem -

Take me home

Take me home

Igniting the blaze inside my heart,
Your words burn a hole through my head.
These thoughts you’ve given to me,
Have created a tireless swarm of judgment,
To which you use,
Against me.

You handed me the blade,
So that I could find sense of who I will be
Tomorrow. The blood around me,
If your way of telling me I’m doing everything
Right.

You hand me the scissors,
And make it clear
that you’re tired of my name.
So I do what you say,
And cut away what ties me to her.
Now,
Nothings left. Just the way you like
me.

You pulled me apart from the man that loves me,
Stole my mind and held my tongue.
You whispered,
Say nothing
Play dumb.

So we make a run for it,
Twelve at night.
Blending me within the city shadows,
You dragged me away from the glancing light.
And blissfully unaware to you,
I wish for
The sun.
To take me home.
To the man that loves me.

The sun hides away

There to shield her shine.
