Take My Heart
 
Take my tired and lonely heart under your wing
Fill my soul with the everlasting love you bring
 
Allow my love to undergo a faithful resurrection
My fragile soul requires your loving protection
 
Wipe the lonely teardrops from down my face
Tell me in your heart my love has a place
 
I walk for miles on the seemingly endless road
Please say that you’ll unburden my heavy load
 
My tender heart still has much love to give
And my burdened soul truly wants to live
 
I have been searching both high and low
For someone who would help my love grow
 
I have searched the earth and the seven seas
To find a way to set my restless spirit free
 
Give me the hope so that I can simply be
Open my tired eyes so that again I can see
 
Remove from me the many crosses that I bear
Let me live my life free and without a care
 
Walk with me along the lonesome shore
Give my aching heart wings so it can soar
 
Can you be the light on my darkened path?
See that I’m looking forward not looking back
 
Will you be a beacon of light in the dark?
And shine your love on my lonely heart
 
Give my wings to soar like an eagle in flight
Allowing me to own the star filled night
 
Take my heart and place it next to your own
Will you accompany me on the long walk home?
