TAKEN AWAY BY A STORM

There it stood so tall and so proud
Always remained quiet and was never loud
Been there since the outbreak of World War two
Now snapped and broken with what a storm can do

Think of all the enjoyment this tree has gave
No time to say goodbye or give a final wave
This tree now unfortunately gone and others remainΒ
Taken out by the strong winds and heavy rain

So another part of history is now taken awayΒ
Wish things would remain and forever stay
