TALES FROM HELL
THE PICTURE YOU PAINTEDĀ
SO GRAPHICALLY WELL,Ā
DID ALARM,
THE WORKINGS OF MY MIND.
I WAS TERRIFIED, BY THE DETAILSĀ
YOU SO CLEVERLY SHARED,
OF YOUR EXPERIENCES,
IN HELLāS CONFINES.
THE ARMS OF DARKNESSĀ
THAT GRIPS ONE SOUL,
AND FIREY FLAMES FELT,
BUT NOT SEEN.
AND DEMONS LONG CASTS
FROM THE GRACE OF GOD,
WHICH THE HUMAN MINDĀ
CAN NEVER CONCEIVE.

LET NOT MY SOUL WONDER,
IN THAT Ā DUNGEON OF DOOM,
BECAUSE OF A DISTASTEĀ
FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS AND LOVE.
FOR ONES ETERNITY WILL BE SPENTĀ
IN THE TORMENT OF HELL,
OR IN THE EVERLASTING PRESENCEĀ
OF GODāS UNCHANGING LOVE.

I think you have expressed the universal fear of traditional hell beautifully here Wilford, you have captured in words what the artist expressed in paint. Though for me the images portray our world not the afterlife.... our 'humanity' or lack thereof as we have inflicted every conceivable horror upon each other since we first left the pond so to speak and continue to do so on a daily basis... but wherever 'hell' is, you have perfectly expressed our deep fear of it. Wonderful work x
